How to mix and match this winter.
Whoever said you couldn’t mix and match black and brown clearly didn’t know much about fashion. A soft brown and a jet black are absolutely complimentary in the fashion world. A warm brown is just what you need to soften up a harsh or edgy outfit. Another fashion ‘rule’ I love to break is that you cannot mix and match textures. In my opinion, brown to black is fur to leather. Who is to say that you can’t wear brown fur with black leather? When you put the two together, they balance each other out and add a cool dimension to any look.
As I’ve said many times over I believe that every fashionable woman out there should have a staple winter coat. One of my staple pieces in my winter wardrobe is this cozy Helmut Lang mink fur bomber jacket. It will keep you warm without compromising your style. While this brown fur coat is a versatile piece that can be worn with quite a lot, I usually like to keep the rest of my outfit fairly simple. I paired my fuzzy bomber jacket with a classic black jean. I love the lace up details on these Alice + Olivia pants. It adds an element of edge especially when worn with my Chanel leather backpack. How fun is this backpack, babes? So sensible, too! I can fit all of the necessities I need for a busy day.
I kept the accessories minimal with these chic sunglasses and my favorite Van Cleef earrings. As for shoes, well you know me, I couldn’t keep everything simple! I had to add a little bit of glitz and glam with these Miu Miu shoes. They are the perfect amount of glam without overpowering the brown fur and black leather. I think it’s important to have a good balance in an outfit especially when mixing and matching colors and textures.
