There are just some shoe styles that will be eternally classic. They manage to transcend the moment while also remaining nostalgic of past style eras. They aren’t necessarily sexy or trendy by any means. But against all odds, their popularity just seems to get better with age. I mean, if a silhouette gets the Chanel stamp of approval, then you know it’s real. Loafers have been a quintessential part of footwear fashion for men and women since the early 1900s. What started as a collegiate shoe for males, is now a staple in most wardrobes. The loafers of today vary every way imaginable: heel height, style, color, material, you name it.
The classic silhouette is often pinned as a ‘business casual’ shoe. And to that I say, you’re not giving loafers enough credit – they’re comfortable, sophisticated, AND chic. I wear them with just about anything and everything. Especially in the fall. My current faves are these White Chanel slip-ons. The braided moccasin look blends boho chic and preppy-casual. I paired them with this embroidered Ulla Johnson swing dress. But I already can’t wait to wear them with jeans and an oversized sweater this fall.
When it comes to loafers, you can find hundreds of different styles that fit your vibe. To help, I’ve rounded up a few of my faves and a little outfit inspo! Hope everyone has a fabulous week! xx
