Holiday decorating can be absolutely daunting. There is so much pressure to create the most magical backdrop with the perfect color palette and best decor. Should I go for a more rustic feel? What about all white? Classic red or green?! The options are endless and Pinterest only makes matters worse. But sometimes a few simple items put together can make for something breathtaking. This year, I channeled my very best ‘less is more’ energy while designing my holiday tablescape and the result was stunning. You may not be Martha Stewart babe, but your friends don’t have to know that! Thanks to my favorite event extraordinaire, Debi Lily of A Perfect Event, we were able to shoot a stunning tablescape at DL Loft!

As you know, traditional isn’t really my style. I gravitate towards unique pieces and blend them with classics to create something new and beautiful. I didn’t want the traditional holiday blooms – nothing against you poinsettias and holly! –  so I started with roses as my focal point. I loved the idea of mixing red with yellow (also a less traditional holiday color combo) and I think the end result was exquisite. Instead of a big centerpiece, I cut all of the flowers and put them in little gold mercury candle votives that I picked up from World Market. I loved that the flowers were short and dainty so no views would be blocked.

To make for a more rustic look, I chose wooden snowflakes which I felt made the scape more winter and less holiday specific. This also aided in my decision to go with champagnes and golds, because they complement any holiday!  To finish off the look, I sprinkled snow-covered pinecones and potpourri that I purchased from World Market all over the table. I chose a box filled with beautiful burgundy berries and gorgeous glitter cinnamon sticks. They had different colored and scented boxes, so you could match any design your little heart can think up! And of course, no holiday tablescape is complete without an overabundance of candles. Votives, candelabras, candlesticks; I’m a huge supporter of all! I think it’s even gorgeous when you combine a variation of heights – it adds character to your table!

A beautiful tablescape not only makes a gathering, but can make your guests feel special. The best part is that there is no wrong or right way, as long as your design feels like you! And if only a few steps are needed to make your holiday that much more glam, I say take them babe!
