A 'made with organic cotton' label without certification typically means only some cotton in the blend is organic. The quality difference is real but subtle. Organic cotton fibers tend to be slightly longer and softer, holding up better through repeated washes when produced at higher GSM (grams per square meter — usually 180+ for a quality tee). The environmental case is clearer: organic cotton uses up to 91 percent less irrigation water and emits roughly 46 percent less greenhouse gas than conventional cotton, according to published industry analyses.
